Summary

Johannes Reinier Schot is an international development expert and founder/owner of Unicorn International Consultancy (UIC), specialized in organizational research, organizational development and Programme Cycle Management for the non-profit sector. After his position as Executive Director of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR) he decided to use his skills and expertise as consultant to strengthen CSOs and NGOs in developing countries. John has worked since 1994 in relief and development organisations in Sub Sahara Africa, Asia, South America, the Balkan and the Former Soviet Union (NIS). Johannes Schot often worked in war-torn/developing countries as consultant and adviser. Johannes Schot has worked for more than 20 years in the field of project and organizational assessments, PCM training, programme evaluations and development of proposals among others for the EU and USAID. In addition to this, he worked as a senior lecturer Organisation sciences for non-profit organisations at the Avans University in Breda, The Netherlands, lecturing programme management and marketing. Johannes worked in the past for more than two years as Programme Cycle Management Adviser for the British Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) training all programme staff, including the CAFODs field offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America in the four stages of programme management. He worked for Counterpart International as the Manager Civil Society Strengthening (CSS) in Afghanistan training 10 Afghan CSOs. John Schot has two Masters from the Dutch Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG) and two BA degrees in formal education and has next to his MAs and BAs a post-graduate certificate in Training and Management, specialized in strengthening public and non-state actors. John Schot worked with several UN agencies, among them WFP (Afghanistan), UNICEF (Afghanistan and Pakistan), UNESCO (EU), WHO (Central Asia), Global Fund (Central Asia) and international donors such as USAID, AusAID, European Commission, DfID, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SIDA and others. John is particularly interested in Asia and the Former Soviet Union.
