I am an economist with a MSc in economics who has specialized skills in econometrics and statistical modeling. I have applied my knowledge in economics mainly; however, my statistical skills may help me to take the most from data in other social sciences and give critical inputs to better understand a specific phenomenon under study.
Currently, I am working for the group of statistics and the fiscal division at the Inter-American Development (IDB) as an international consultant. Recently, I worked for a short term as a research coordinator at ProColombia, a government agency under the Ministry of Commerce, committed to promote international trade and bring foreign direct investment to Colombia. Before starting this job, I worked for almost seven years as a senior consultant for the group of statistics at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC. On my professional career, I have also worked for international organizations such as ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin American and the Caribbean), IOM (International Organization for Migration), FAO (Food AND Agriculture Organization) as well as some Colombian government organizations (Ministry of Economics) and academic institutions.
My main interest is to collaborate with local and non-local officials to boost social and economic development in undeveloped countries and regions. I have experience on working close to PhD researchers, analysts, public policy makers and local officials. I can give technical inputs on poverty and inequality phenomena, labor economics in developing countries, agricultural economics, trade and foreign investment flows, and fiscal economics.
