I am a public financial management (PFM) expert with more than 16 years of public sector consulting and training experience with:
- governments in Africa (7 countries);
- Central Asia (Afghanistan);
- Middle East and North Africa (MENA UNICEF Regional Office);
- Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Myanmar); and
- the Pacific (Kiribati).
My projects included Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessments, PFM policy analysis and development, and PFM training on strategic planning, results-based and program budgeting, M&E, legislative oversight and public pension fund risk analysis.
I have considerable experience in working with one of the world’s largest donors: the UN. As a UNDP-appointed advisor in the Afghanistan Ministry of Finance, I assisted with policy development in sub-national budgeting and operations and maintenance. I supported Myanmar with integrating SDG principles as a UNDP consultant. I built PFM capacity in Swaziland for UNDP and child-sensitive budget analysis in Tanzania for UNICEF. I assisted with biodiversity expenditure reviews in Botswana and South Africa for UNDP and with Public Finance for Children (PF4C) capacity-building in Gambia and in the MENA region for the UNICEF.
My international development work includes peacekeeping mission planning in UNAMID, Darfur, Sudan.
