I have been in humanitarian and development field over 15 years in different role mostly in programme management. My role last 08 years involved in senior management level and been deployed to manage large scale emergency in Asia, Africa and Pacific, out of them 03 category 05 cyclone responses in Asia and Pacific such as Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines, TC Pam in Vanuatu and TC Winston in Fiji, 02 refugee crisis in South Sudan and Yemen and 01 IDP crisis in Philippines (current). As Programme Manager/Director in large scale emergency I been involved both rapid and coordinated inter-sectoral assessment, designing and developing emergency and recovery programme, recruit and lead response and recovery team in major response area such as Emergency Food Security & Livelihood (EFSL), WASH, Gender and Protection, DRR, humanitarian advocacy etc , manage multi-sectoral, multi-national diverse team in difficult circumstances, plan and support to build national capacity, deliver high quality response/recovery programme following internationally agreed standard and principles (Core humanitarian standard, int. humanitarian law etc), coordinate internal (country, region, HQ etc) and external stakeholders (such as host Govt, UN clusters, donors, affected communities etc) diplomatically, involve negotiation and complex decision making process, managing risk and expectations through risk analysis, risk & security management plan, experience in managing large multi-million programmes that are supported by a diverse donor portfolio and not last but least is to link emergency/response and recovery programme to preparedness, resilience and long term development programme which involved link and incorporate lessons from emergency programme into country strategy, contingency planning process, capacity building plan for country preparedness for managing large scale emergency in future.
In my time with different INGO’s including Oxfam I led country self-assessment and contingency planning process in Bangladesh, South Sudan, Philippines and Laos. I contributed to develop global guideline on Gender in Emergency, guideline for conducting Participatory, Capacity and Vulnerability Assessment (PCVA) and Community Accountability Tool Kits etc. Managed 03 consortium emergency recovery project each of 10 m GBP/Euro funded by DFID and ECHO. Demonstrated ability to provide on the job training and mentoring to national staff to take and lead programme once international staff being phased out this process I led in several countries including Yemen, South Sudan, Philippines and Vanuatu. Currently I been responsible as Head of Mission to manage humanitarian (Marawi IDP crisis) and development programme for Islamic Relief World Wide for conflict sensitive Mindanao province in Philippines which is involved conflict sensitive programming and peace building process under unstable circumstances.
