Summary

I come from a biomedical background and after working as a clinical physician for a number of years in Australia I moved to health and development. I started working with international organizations my first assignment was on Polio eradication programme. I then worked on the avian flu outbreak in Egypt which killed over 80 people. I established my own private business editing and translating development reports for UN agencies in the middle east. While running my business I took an international assignment helping the Saudi Arabian government develop their 5-year development plan by taking care of the health component. I then moved to working with human rights' issues working with UNICEF on FGM abandonment programme which is conducted in 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East. Currently I'm coordinating a multidimensional Women's Empowerment programme which involves 3 UN agencies (UNDP, UNFPA and UNWomen) in collaboration with the government of Sweden
