Kim W.

Manager, Sustainability Services

South Africa

I am purpose driven. The last eight years of my career have seen significant change from NGO to corporate. This, all in the search of the most suitable platform for me to: make an impact; find alignment between my passion for conserving the environment and creating sustainable social development; and learn. Qualified in Zoology and Wildlife Management, I worked in the Environmental NGO sector as Conservation Coordinator and Environmental Education Practitioner for Mpumalanga Province. A broad position (focused on biodiversity, water and wetlands) primarily involving development, implementation and support of strategies, projects and partnerships. This required interaction with government, industry, parastatals, communities, and other NGOs. My desire to have an impact changed my approach, and from there I took my skills and knowledge from being 'on the ground' into consulting. Here I have been exposed to a variety of advisory and assurance work, across numerous clients and industries. This change in approach has improved my business acumen, further developed my people and project management skills, and enhanced my sustainability experience.
