As a Nigerian-American student, I am passionate about spreading the importance and benefits of intercultural exchange between different countries and cultures. As an undergraduate at North Carolina State University, my passion for intercultural exchange led me to get involved in culturally diverse organizations such as African Student Union, and the Cultural Exchange Network where I was able to interact with and learn from people with family origins from all over the world. My passion for intercultural exchange was then further heightened by my study abroad experience in the Netherlands. During my undergraduate experience, it was solidified by the gaining of my B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in global relations. I am currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill in pursuit of a M.A. in Global Studies. Through the fieldwork that I have conducted in Nigeria on migration patterns, my internship at Curamericas Global, a non-profit that promotes maternal and child health in underdeveloped countries, and my pursuit of a certificate in Peace and Conflict Resolution I have been able to continue to feed my passion for intercultural exchange. As I look to graduate in May 2020, I desire to pursue a career that allows me to engage in diverse communities, both locally and internationally, with the hopes of helping the less fortunate, bringing awareness to global issues, worldwide, and helping to create a more rich and unified world.
