I have held several managerial positions with UN Women (Caribbean region), DFID Caribbean - UK Government Aid Agency (Caribbean region), the Australian Government (Dep’t of Foreign Affairs and Trade) in Trinidad and Tobago, and currently on a programme assignment with the Commonwealth Secretariat in London that is fanned out to 20 countries in Africa, Pacific and the Caribbean regions.
Successful implementation of strategy and guidelines for programme management, financial/budgetary management, development and implementation of local and corporate policies in the field, managing disputes and tailoring policies and processes across multiple offices and locations are my main focus.
In my current job I work and collaborate with 20 countries (governments and regional economic organisations) in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions, each with different cultures, priorities and development needs, delivering on the programme’s strategic objectives on trade policy and development; focusing on public/private sector partnerships and strengthening key relationships with governments, NGOs, CSOs and the international community in transforming policies and enhancing trade possibilities for economic growth in LDCs.
My experience spans 15 years’ in finance, operational and programme management (including HR, learning and development, budgets, communications and information technology (ICT), security, property management and contract/procurement management and programme administration).
My emphasis, drive and focus are always on accountability, transparency, efficiency and ethics.I possess the required experience in the international development sector and have a demonstrable track record of leading and delivery of large-scale projects and leading and developing staff. In addition, reporting on progress, results and impact of trade and trade related issues, climate change and trade, economic and trade governance and women’s empowerment and leadership across the globe has been a key strength.
