I am an ophthalmologist, trained in Germany, with over ten years clinical, surgical and educational experiences in low-and middle income countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Sierra Leone. Since 2014, I am employed as regional advisor for prevention of blindness programs in the Philippines, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. My main focus is the mitigation of barriers to eye health services for marginalized populations, specifically people with disablities, as well as the the integration of prevention of visual impairment programs into government health systems. In 2017, I completed a Master of Public Health (with distinction), University of Manchester, England. I have published several peer-reviewed articles in the field of ophthalmology, epidemiological eye health surveys, cataract surgical outcome monitoring and disability-inclusive eye health.
