I am a Civil Engineer and have specialised in Highways Engineering and Management through an MSc from the University of Birmingham. I am a member of Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation and Prince 2 qualified, BSI Lead Auditor trained and commercially competent. I have 31 years’ experience,18 of which were spent in Sub-Saharan Africa managing and delivering highways infrastructure contracts and strategies (£400-600m). I have led large multi-disciplinary teams varying from technical professionals, direct labour, consultants, sub-contractors, and supply chain (20 to 300 staff) providing both operational and strategic leadership. I have developed and delivered Highways England’s major projects Procurement Strategy (£5 billion Collaborative Delivery frameworks), supporting government’s Road Investment Strategy. I have held senior management roles both in public and private sector providing strategic and operational leadership. I am currently Head of Civil Engineering for England at the Forestry Commission and part of the senior management team. In 31 years, I have acquired transferable skills through leading various programmes in road research, construction, maintenance, procurement and providing technical advice and this experience makes me a valuable asset to any infrastructure organisation.
