I am a real life slum-dog but millionaire in ideas.
Since my childhood it had been a challenge for me to educate myself and my siblings. For this purpose I picked up garbage, washed cars in markets and sold newspapers. Doing all these jobs as a child-laborer, my passion for reading kept my alive and dream big.
Reading The Great Expectations by Charles Dickens was the defining moment of my life.
I have worked with Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
Now I am running my own organization Slumabad to let every nomad child experience the joy of reading and save their lives through sanitation practices.
In my slum air is always heavy with smell of diarrhea; children preening over garbage piles. I am changing it by sending kids to schools and building toilets. The difference is a nomad-child with a school bag.
