Thanks God, I have been in 21st Century where Globalisation, Technology, Modern Knowledge and My Acquisition of it made it possible to be multi-dimensional in skills and experience. I am looking for long term international assignments, having more than 14 years of experience in design, M&E, management and reporting of social and population development statistics. Currently working with UN at Amman, as Statistician, responsible for high quality socioeconomic statistics that are required to target beneficiaries and to design largest social and economic welfare humanitarian policies for Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. At UN, I specifically performed advance statistical procedures including smoothing, targeting through regression outcome analysis, identification of key determinants of different levels of poverty at different fields including Gaza Strip, Jordan, and Syria for Palestine Refugee population. My work also includes developing different poverty proxies, PMTF, Multidimensional Poverty Index and other relevant targeting methodologies.
Before this I have completed a Mid-term Evaluation of USAID funded Youth Workforce Development Project implemented by UNDP and AmanTech in Pakistan. I have diverse experience in Research, M&E and statistics. I worked as Research team member for Pakistan largest health projects in Pakistan (Family Advancement for Life and Health) and PAIMAN (Pakistan Initiatives for Mothers and Newborns) while working at Population Council. I designed and completed baselines and endlines for FALAH (that was implemented in 26 districts across four provinces of Pakistan). I also analysed endline data, using regression outcome methods, to see impact of different project interventions on different outcome variables, e.g., impact of Lady Health Workers on uptake of family planning practices in Pakistan.
I had a wonderful opportunity as "Principal Investigator" for a study commissioned by SAARC Human Resource Development Network where I analyzed OECD and World Bank data on emigration. We also collected primary data from SAARC emigrants. The main objective was to extract out the main reasons for emigration of trained and professionally qualified human resources from SAARC countries to developed countries like OECD.
I had worked with ACTED, as Statistician/Evaluation Specialist, A French NGO for one of its projects in Pakistan. I analysed data under quasi-experimental design’s methodology of Propensity Score Matching and written report. The project was specifically designed to measure impact of Microfinance on poverty in Pakistan. I extensively used the non-parametric measures to calculate Women Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI), Women Empowerment Index (Mason and Smith Index), Poverty Score Card, Wealth Index by using advance statistical techniques and measured the Average Treatment Effect highlighting the impact of microfinance on different dimensions of poverty.
I also brainchild and completed a donor funded project on Community Based Monitoring System in Pakistan where data was collected through census from grassroots level in the Punjab province in order to develop poverty maps by villages. The project was also set to provide data for Punjab youth policy 2012 which specifically highlighted the data gap for effective planning for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship development. That’s the reason, there was a rider survey on Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship.
I have in-depth knowledge of Research and M&E domain for development sector. Beside it, I am proficient in SPSS and Stata for basic to advance data analysis and have experience of using primary and secondary data for empirical writing. I have been also a regular professional trainer designing and providing comprehensive training programs on Research Design, Methodology, Data Analysis, Use of SPSS and STATA, Sample Calculation, Sampling Designs and Monitoring and Evaluation techniques.
