Ms. Nothando E Moabi has over 10 years experience in managing finances of complex multimillion-dollar programs funded by USAID in Southern Africa. With a proven record of accomplishment of overseeing project finances for USG/PEPFAR-funded and other International Donors. Ms. Moabi has experience in the development and management of robust finance and accounting systems; ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting; establish and supervise effective procurement and guarantee compliance through internal controls, regular auditing, and risk management.
She also provides training through capacity building sessions to project staff and subcontractors/sub grantees. With the Amaqhawe project in Secunda Mpumalanga (funded by CDC) she closely mentored, trained, and successfully built the capacity of a local counterpart over four years, supported and facilitated their transition from sub grantees to grantees. For the Technical Support Facility (TSF) funded by UNAIDS she successfully managed the close out process and handing over of the project to UNAIDS. For the Thogomelo project (funded by USAID through PATH as the Prime) she managed the project finances through to close out. She was also responsible for the financial management of GCBS (funded by USAID through PACT).
She assesses grantee capacity and identifies gaps, provides technical assistance and training support, and maintains strict oversight of grants administration to ensure full financial and contractual compliance. Ms. Moabi received formal training in USAID rules and regulations, has solid knowledge of IFRIS, GAAP and PFMA and has successfully managed USAID audits. She has extensive experience with a range of accounting packages, including Peoplesoft, Oracle, Great Plains and Lawson.
