I attained a Master of Social Work and Human Rights from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and am currently studying for a Master of Management at Lund University School of Economics and Management.
I have extensive experience as a social worker with a focus on marginalized groups, gender-based violence practicing, crisis social work, gender, girl's education, mental health and substance abuse in Finland, Sweden, USA and Uganda.
I am passionate about grassroots initiatives that holistically engage communities to improve access for rights and adequate services for vulnerable groups . I, along with my colleagues, established a small NGO called Mirembe in 2009, which supports school aged at-risk and out-of-school children to access primary and secondary education in rural Uganda. The organization is still active and has made quality education possible for dozens of children in Luwero distric in Uganda.
I am particularly interested in Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights for sex-workers. I have written my Master's thesis about sex work activism in Kampala and later published an article covering this subject titled, “United in Bwaise –Fighting Oppression in an Ugandan Slum”.
