Pramod holds a masters degree in Commercial and Financial Regulation (London School of Economics). He specializes in financial regulation and financial inclusion. Presently, heads the capacity development college (CAB) of RBI that helps banks build capacity in inclusive finance, financial inclusion and customer protection. A 'design thinker', with rich experience in in micro-practical tasks ( on/ off site supervision and inclusive finance) and policy thinking in banking supervision and financial inclusion). Pramod seamlessly blends systematic and idiosyncratic views. His expertise works on a conviction that external oversight needs to be innovatively proactive rather than reactively reformist. He led the RBI initiatives on he implementation of risk based supervision,consolidated supervision, financial conglomerates supervision,cross border as well as cross sectoral supervision and supervisory cooperation, Basle II ( Pillar 2). Was a member of the Task Force for Supervisory College which supports the Standard Implementation Group (SIG) of Basle Committee on Banking Supervision( BCBS). Worked with International Monetary Fund for three years assisting 13 southern African countries build their capacity in financial regulation and supervision. In 2011/12 he was RBI's Regional Director for the States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatishgarh.In this leadership position he had policy and practical exposure to issues surrounding 'financial inclusion', 'financial literacy' and 'SME financing". This invaluable experience was cathartic as it purified his academic awareness of financial risks and financial stability. Was the Director on the Board of Bank of India, fifth largest bank of India. The assignment was like doing graduate programme in the practical issues of risk taking,decision making and Board level governance in banks. This was an exploratory journey into the governance space where internal oversight and external oversight could converge.
