As a policy analyst and professional, I approach my work through a strong social justice and cultural competency framework that is continually evolving. While applying qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, I enjoy using my creativity to produce evidence-based policy recommendations and improving the efficiency of existing systems. To ensure success, I employ strong project management practices in my policy and consulting work.
My professional interests lie in enhancing and improving social safety net programs through:
+ Providing technical assistance to both state and nonprofit entities
+ Cultivating state administrative best practices (e.g. utilizing online applications, case manager telephone interview opportunities, etc.)
+ Promoting the cost-savings through technology utilization (e.g. blockchain documentation, chatbots, online application portals, UX/UI, etc)
+ Advocating for the expansion of successful pilot programs (e.g. SNAP vegetable/fruit matching grants through the Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive (FINI) program and private donors, SFSP 3rd meal option, etc)
+ Using outcome-based metrics in the context of ending systemic poverty to:
1. Address racial and other identity-focused systemic inequities
2. Improve cross-program coordination to create an effective safety 'net'
3. Focus on longer-term outcomes (i.e. sustainable employment as opposed to 'skimming' practices)
