Summary

Rahzeb is a strategy specialist managing and delivering highly complex, multi-component projects working with senior counterparts in the government and private sector. Many of his engagements have focused on advising governments on governance, public sector reform, security, policy reform, privatisation and encouraging private sector-led growth. He has worked on initiatives that are often politically high profile and challenging. This includes in difficult environments such as in states in, or emerging from, conflict including Afghanistan, Sudan and the Palestinian Territories. He has led interventions for the UK Government's Department for International Development and its Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the US State Department, the World Bank and the UN, as well as working at Cabinet-level in several countries to improve public and corporate governance. For example, Rahzeb assisted the Bangladesh Government's National Security Council to design an economic development support strategy for resettlement of Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. He presently advises the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on policy issues in South East Asia, while concurrently leading (as interim CEO) a UK health sector business employing over 300 staff through a restructuring programme. More generally, he has worked extensively in many developing countries and regions, including: non-oil Arab countries; Sub Saharan Africa; North, South and South East Asia; Eastern Europe; and the Caribbean. A versatile consultant, Rahzeb has also advised diverse industrial and service sector clients globally, ranging from blue-chip FTSE-350 and NYSE-listed corporates to SMEs. He has assisted clients with international market entry, strategies for business expansion, as well as corporate and project financing. Rahzeb has also managed and delivered corporate location/investment strategy assignments for several leading Japanese multinational corporations in EU markets. Rahzeb is also a Trustee of an international charity working in sub-Saharan Africa, where he brings a specific focus on risk management, safeguarding and other policy issues. Rahzeb also works with the Cranfield Trust in the UK to provide strategy advisory support to UK-based charities.
