CwaaF Nigeria is registered in Nigeria as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional and psychological support for community development. We support community mental health. We work with community members and relevant stakeholders in the community to assess the impact of community and policy induced stressors that affect an individual, family, and functioning of community members. CwaaF Nigeria provides individualized interventions as well as policy advocacy to address issues of psychosocial, emotional and trauma related problems that affect functioning. We firmly believe that mental health disorder is better addressed through integrated and collaborative approaches. Traumatic experience affects entire life course of clients who experienced these exposures at multiple levels. Local nonprofits are strategically positioned to provide intervention for survivors of adversity such as violence; unfortunately, capacities and capabilities of local NGOs in addressing socio-emotional and psychological needs of communities and survivors of adversities and community violence has been inadequate. We work with individuals, children, families, and communities that are impacted by socioeconomic, political and conflict induced stressors to improve resilience and support functioning. The goal of CwaaF Nigeria is to promote, educate, advocacy and to encourage integrated peacebuilding in which allied psychotherapy is a core part of treatment and programming.
