Freelance photojournalist with an interest stories on conflict. I’m currently living in Switzerland and about to graduate with a self-designed degree in Visual Communication Arts with a particular focus on the nexus of photojournalism and conflict studies from Franklin University.
I aim to work with stories revolving in complex environments, using the visual medium of photograph as a way to portray the lives of people and stories of places as they make history.
I excel at participating in projects that highlight a contextualized problem by specifically focusing on environment and human involvement. My photographs lend to a unique perspective and capture subjects in their own light. I am drawn to human subjects more than landscapes as I can capture the true essence of the personality and perspective when having a deep conversation about a specific topic.
Recently I traveled to Akkar, Lebanon with the NGO ACTED to complete a photography exhibition project on sustainability and water pollution, highlighting the agricultural aspects of Akkar and the increased pollution that is taking over the river. As a whole, the exhibition highlights the agricultural land/farms, the community of Akkar and the polluted river.
I enjoy traveling to abnormal locations and engulfing myself in the culture to grasp a more intricate understanding of a place, her people and the events unfolding there. I always strive and push myself out of my comfort zone to capture photos that display a deeper meaning.
