Besides his extensive professional experience working in emergency and development sectors, Mr. Goteh is an astute academician who has researched issues in Sino-African Brain Circulation and knowledge transferability, skilled migration, poverty reduction and paths to sustainable development in Africa and internationalization of higher education in China while serving as a Research Assistant to the China's Internationalization of Higher Education Research Group at the Beijing Normal University. In June 2016, Mr. Goteh obtained a Master's Degree in Public Management and Contemporary Development at the School of Social Development & Public Policy, Beijing Normal University and worked as Policy Analyst Intern at the International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) for one year. He has over seven years of professional experience in both the Public-and-Private sector and he has managed and implemented projects in community development, humanitarian relief, poverty reduction, youth and women's empowerment, para-legal and judicial education programs. In 2010, Mr. Goteh joined the UN Refugee Agency as Refugee Determination Associate (RSD) in Liberia and worked to ensure the social, economic and fundamental human rights protection of refugees and other persons of concern to UNHCR who fled the fear of being persecuted from the post-electoral crisis in Cote D'Ivoire and Guinea respectively.
Since then, he worked with many other development organizations including Danish refugee council, Save the Children UK, and Checchi and Company Consulting Inc., a US-based legal development and Anti-corruption organization; and Mr. Goteh seeks a scholarship for a Ph.D. in international development and public policy analysis.
