Dr Sara Niner is an interdisciplinary researcher and lecturer with the Anthropology program in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University. She is an expert in the field of gender and development with an ongoing interest in those issues in the post-conflict environment of Timor-Leste and is widely published in this field. As a regional gender expert, Dr. Niner has often worked and reported on gender issues in S. E. Asia for local and international development agencies. With a specific expertise on Timor-Leste, Dr. Niner has provided specialist in-country advice on gender issues for international agencies. She has published her research findings in top-rated international journals along with the publication of three books on politics and leadership in East Timor with scholarly publishers including latest book, Women and the politics of gender n Post-Conflict Timor-Leste, has just been published through the Women in Asia Series, of Routledge in the UK.
