Shaymaa Kadry, founder and managing director of GISR Institution for Survey Research. A social enterprise specialized in conducting public opinion research and promoting it in Egypt established in 2014. She was able to make GISR one of the reputable small companies in the field in Egypt, working with international organizations like the ILO, GIZ, and Care International. Due to focusing on leveraging the field of survey research in Egypt, GISR was awarded "Pioneers of Egypt" Award in 2016.
Before founding GISR, she has been the deputy manager of the Public Opinion Poll Center of the Egyptian Cabinet. She has 16 years experience in the field of research generally and survey research specifically. She participated in preparing many economic studies and reports at the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet (IDSC), she also supervised over 500 opinion polls and surveys, and participated in translating the book: Managing Think Tanks: Practical Guidance for Maturing Organizations, and have several published articles on the websites: SasaPost, ElShrouk, Onsurveys.
She has graduated from Faculty of Economics and Political Science, English Section, and holds a Masters degree in Euro-Mediterranean studies. She also has two certificates from Cambridge University in Human Resource Planning and Business Communication. As a certified PMP, she has been teaching project management for those seeking to get the PMP certificate. She also gives short courses in project management and survey research methodologies.
She has been one of the founders of an NGO called Waseela for Training and Development, an Egyptian NGO concerned with youth development.
