I conduct qualitative research and write to convey the voices of NGO intervention beneficiaries. My work includes data collection, analysis, and clear writing to inform implementing agencies and donors. I also work in international educational development policy and planning, teaching language and culture, communication in diverse environments, training development, collaboration and facilitation, and writing and presenting. I have developed long-lasting school-school international student exchange programs between US and Japan schools. I offer workshops in Japanese culture, etiquette, and language and have taught elementary, middle, high school, college, and graduate level Japanese courses since 1990. I have recently returned from Malawi where I worked in Knowledge and Learning Management for Project Concern International and Peace Corps Response.
Other projects include continued research about access to education for Micronesian migrants in Honolulu, teaching remote Japanese language classes, and revising existing English teaching guides for use in Cambodia.
