Zambian Accountant, Business Administration and Public Health professional, brings 18 years of experience managing the finances and auditing operations of first private companies (2001-2010) and more recently USG-funded health projects that focus on HIV prevention, care and treatment and Health Systems Strengthening activities. Completing advanced degree in public health (MPH) in January of 2018. I draw on both financial background and public health expertise in current role as Finance and Operations Specialist with PEPFAR Zambia at the US Embassy in Lusaka. In this position, I have played a key role in developing PEPFAR Zambia’s Country Operational Plan Budgets (approximately $400,000,000 p.a) and have received three awards for outstanding dedication and leadership in this process. I manage the Zambia PEPFAR Coordination Office’s Budget (approximately $3,000,000 p.a), including pre- and post-award grants management, I also serve as the Expenditure Analysis Key Point of Contact for Zambia and a member of the Interagency Health Systems Strengthening Technical Working Group. I have assisted the PEPFAR country team in allocating resources to various program areas including Service delivery, Commodities, Lab, Health Information Systems, Human Resource for Health, and Leadership and Governance. I have coordinated PEPFAR Zambia’s responses/inputs into the most recent National Health Accounts (NHA). I have also assisted the team in leveraging the use of expenditure, epidemiological and other data for decision making to improve program technical and allocative efficiency. I have previously served as PEPFAR Finance and Administration Coordinator for Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership for HIV Research and Education providing Financial, logistical, and Pre- and Post-award Grants Management support to multiple USG-funded projects, including those funded by PEPFAR through CDC and HRSA with the objective of, among other things, to improve the Government of Botswana’s Monitoring and Evaluation capacity of its ART Program (Masa) and activities to build and maintain the Botswana Ministry of Health’s Data Warehouse. I have supported interdisciplinary teams carrying out in-service training in M&E, Lab, Pharmacy and Clinical care under the PEPFAR Master Trainer Program. I have managed combined budgets exceeding $24 million and have provided financial technical leadership as a supervisor to teams of up to 3 staff. I am a US Government Certified Grants Officer Representative/Certified Assistance Professional and is proficient in QuickBooks Pro, Pastel Partner, Pastel Evolution and Sun Accounting systems. I am fluent in Lozi, English and Bemba as well as proficient in Nyanja.
