Human rights lawyer (LLM in International Human rights and Humanitarian Law (distinction), JD (distinction), BA(Hons.)) with international experience in Africa, Asia and the Middle East in the areas of rule of law programming, capacity-building, fact-finding missions, trial observations, field research and project evaluation; previously held positions with the OSCE in Kyrgyzstan as a Human Rights Adviser, the United Nations (UNAMA, UNHCR), a global diplomatic advisory group in New York (Independent Diplomat), respected NGOs (International Bar Association, Public International Law and Policy Group, Lawyers Without Borders), a global law firm in New York, domestic courts and academic institutions; awarded Chevening Scholarship and named Wesbrook Scholar, Blakes Scholar, BLG Research Fellow; masters dissertation focused on issue of human rights vetting of UN peacekeepers using Sri Lanka as a case study. Presented a paper on judicial reform in Kenya at a Globalization of Crime conference in Ottawa, Canada (August 2011), and presented two papers on gender-based violence and women's participation in political processes in Afghanistan at a UN Women conference in Delhi, India (February 2013).
