Over the last 15 years I have led international development organizations and acquired the following competencies: strategic planning, logical and results based framework application, fiscal management, program design and evaluation, fund-raising, team building, research strategies for praxis. I am currently the Chief of Party for a USAID funded project in El Salvador carried out by Whole Child International and previously held Executive Director positions for a number of organizations: Country Director in Bolivia for Childfund, PROCOSI, the Quipus Craft Development Program and the interactive learning center, Kusillo, in La Paz, Bolivia.
I have ample experience designing, resourcing and implementing programs for children and youth, including hands on learning, income generation, youth leadership and civic engagement, violence prevention, child protection, community health and leadership development. I also have experience managing USAID, Inter-American Development bank and other projects funded by bilateral and multilateral organizations.
I live in El Salvador with permanent residence in Virginia. I hold both Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell in international development planning, and am bilingual in Spanish and English.
