Summary

I am an environment and development geographer. My areas of expertise include political ecology, tropical agriculture, environment and development policy, and livelihood security. My research and work experiences have led to stays in Mali, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Niger, Lesotho, India, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. In recent years, I have done short term consulting work for the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture, the International Livestock Research Institute and the Africa Capacity Building Foundation. Prior to becoming an academic, I worked for the Save the Children Fund, the World Bank and USAID.
