I have over 10years combined experience in Finance and Accounting, having worked with Non- Governmental Organizations, Micro Finance Institutions, Governments and Multinational Development Agencies including experience on the full lifecycle of a project (inception to closeout). I believe this makes me an ideal fit for the position.
In my position as the Finance and Administration Manager for Adam Smith International, I was a key resource in setting up of the project office in Mombasa, including setting up the finance function, designing policy documents and manuals such as the standard operating procedures in line with DFID requirements, hiring finance and administration personnel and building internal and external capacity of sub-grantee accountants and project finance/administration team. I have the technical capacity and expertise to deliver efficiently and effectively in my roles. While working for Adam Smith International, my department was voted ‘The Best Project Office’ in East Africa, having scored 94% in the Internal Audit and Compliance Review for 2016.
I have consistently demonstrated the capacity to motivate, enthuse and mentor development in my teams and was voted the ‘Most Cheerful Employee’ for Consumer Insight Africa Group of Companies in 2009.
My specialties are in financial accounting and reporting; donor reporting; budgeting and budget control; project management; managing fiduciary risks and providing support in risk audits; grant management and compliance reviews.
