Health Services for Women and Girls Project in Haiti

The project will support the reconstruction of Haiti’s National School of Midwifery and the construction of 10 new maternity clinics. In addition, the project will provide for the training of professional midwives, and Haitian health and management personnel for the approximately 230,000 women and girls affected by the earthquake. Also, the project will provide medical and psychological care for up to 500 female victims of gender-based violence along with family planning services for 160,000 women in camps.
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will provide a maximum of CA$ 5 million (US$ 5.05 million) to the initiative.
