Increasing Resilience to Climate Change and Natural Hazards Project in Solomon Islands: General Procurement Notice

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury has received financing in the amount of US $2,730,000 equivalent from the World Bank towards the cost of the Increasing Resilience to Climate Change and Natural Hazards Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
 
The project will include the following components
 

Coordination between Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Institutions: Under the component, the Recipient will organize a series of consultative workshops and related activities with institutions involved in climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in order to facilitate the integration of climate change and disaster risk reduction in national and provincial policies, planning and operations.

 

Information and Communication: The component will create a framework for the establishment of or connection of existing geographic information systems, including data sharing arrangements; compilation, analytical and carry out procurement and installation of emergency and data communication systems to support disaster preparedness and response.

The following goods would be procured:

Data and Emergency Communication system

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits dated January 2011, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers dated January 2011.

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and Solomon Star.
