1. The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development towards the cost of the INNER CITY BASIC SERVICES FOR THE POOR PROJECT, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the following Contract:Bid No. 5153ZINC FENCE REMOVAL – SHELTER ROCK – JONES AVENUE PACKAGES 1 & 2 – ST. CATHERINE (#73094)The Jamaica Social Investment Fund now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Zinc Fence Removal – Shelter Rock – Jones Avenue Packages 1 & 2 in St. Catherine. The scope of works involve the replacement of zinc (corrugated iron) boundary fencing to 59 residential units/yards (approximately 589 metres) along Shelter Rock – Jones Avenue with concrete block and steel wall, 6 feet in height with approximately 4 feet of ordinary block and 2 feet of decorative block wall. The delivery/construction period is Four (4) months.
All Bidders must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of bid opening in the category “Civil Engineering” in Grade 2 or higher. (See www.ocg.gov.jm).Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00).

ICBSP MOBILE COMMUNITY SECURITY & MEDIATION CENTRES – MULTI-PARISH

The Jamaica Social Investment Fund now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for
ICBSP Mobile Community Security & Mediation Centres – Multi-Parish. The scope of works
involve the supply and retrofitting of four (4) 40ft international shipping containers to create mobile
Community Security and Mediation Centre. Each Mobile Centre should be fully self-contained structure
with all required amenities related to Mediation/Counseling, Administration and Dormitory. The design
of the containers will incorporate solar voltaic systems that will power lights and appliances with
electricity and a water recycling system to be used in for the recycling of gray water to flush toilets. The
delivery/construction period is Three (3) months.
All Bidders must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of bid
opening in the category “Building Construction” in Grade 2 or higher. (See www.ocg.gov.jm).
Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).
FLANKERS VIETNAM SQUARE – ST. JAMES (#72962)
Bid No. 5154The Jamaica Social Investment Fund now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for
Flankers Vietnam Square in St. James. The scope of works involve the construction of 26m of
concrete channel, 52m curbs, 442m2 cobblestone finish surface, 163m new storm water drains and
construction of modified planter box. The delivery/construction period is Four (4) months.
All Bidders must be registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) at the time of bid
opening in the category “Civil Engineering” and /or “General Road Works” in Grade 2 or higher.
(See www.ocg.gov.jm).
Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of Eighty-two Thousand Dollars
($82,000.00).
2. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified
in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines and the Government of Jamaica
Handbook of Public Sector Procurement Procedures (Revised May 14, 2012), Volume 2 of 4 Procedures
for the Procurement of Goods, General Services & Works.

4. All Bidders must be tax compliant at bid opening. The original Tax Compliance Certificate
(TCC) must be presented at the bid opening or within two (2) days of the bid opening.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding
documents at the Jamaica Social Investment Fund at the address below from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Bid
collection period Thursday, December 27, 2012 to Thursday, January 24, 2013. A complete set of
bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Two Thousand, Five
Hundred Jamaican Dollars (JMD2,500.00) for printed copy or Five Hundred Jamaican Dollars
(JMD500.00) for Compact Disc (CD) in cash or certified cheque made payable to the Jamaica Social
Investment Fund. All bids must be submitted in printed copy.
ORIGINAL AND COPY OF THE BID MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS
All bidders must be tax compliant at bid opening. The original Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
must be presented at the bid opening or within two (2) days of the bid opening.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by 12:00 noon on Friday, January 25, 2013. Late bids will
be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the
