The Government of Sierra Leone has received a grant from the International Development Association (IDA), and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for consulting services for Strengthening of Farmer Based Organizations in Sierra Leone. Project Development Objective The Project Development objective is to increase production of selected agricultural commodities by 20% and sales by 10% through improvements in efficiencies along the value chain for targeted beneficiaries. Project Components The project has four main components: Component 1: Domestic Marketing Improvement Component 2: Agricultural Export Promotion Component 3: Support to Farmer - Based Organisations and Technology Improvement · Component 4: Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Policy Regulations Objective of the assignment The aim of this consultancy is to develop architectural and strategic guide in the formation of viable farmers/processors/traders associations and other relevant stakeholders identified in the value chain. The strategy will is to empower members in rendering services such as input supply, processing, marketing, training and access to technology and credit on a sustainable basis. Brief Description of the Assignment The brief description of the assignment includes strengthening the organizational and management capacities of legally registered FBOs in Sierra Leone. The Project Coordination Unit of the Rural and Private Sector Development Project (RPSDP), acting on behalf of the Ministry of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Security (MAFFS) and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI), now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, general qualifications and number of key staff, and so forth). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualification.
