'The MCC Model' - Another Reason for Conservatives to Care about Aid Reform?

    By Ivy Mungcal // 09 June 2010

Mark Green has recently identified two reasons why conservatives in the U.S. should care about foreign aid reform. In a new blog post on Modernizing Foreign Assistance Reform, the managing director of the Washington-based Malaria Policy Center gives a third reason.

Foreign aid reform gives Conservatives an opportunity to reaffirm their initiatives and values as well as reinforce the development tools they helped created, including U.S. AIDS and malaria initiatives and the Millennium Challenge Corp.

“MCC strives to be an incentive-driven approach to foreign assistance that promotes many of the principles which Conservatives believe are fundamental to prosperity and freedom,” Green says.

He argues that discussions on foreign assistance reform give Conservatives the chance to “push hard for the MCC and the MCC model.”
