**VACANCY NO.:** TGF/07/TA258 **TITLE:** Partnership Forum Project Manager **CONTRACT TYPE:** TEMPORARY **DURATION:** 14 months **OFFICIAL LOCATION:** (COUNTRY) Geneva (Switzerland) **ORGANIZATION:** The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (The Global Fund) This vacancy is open to applicants of EITHER GENDER Applications from WOMEN are encouraged __The Global Fund actively encourages appropriately qualified people living with HIV to apply. __ **THE GLOBAL FUND:** The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is a global public-private partnership dedicated to raising and disbursing large amounts of additional finance to prevent and treat the three pandemics. The Global Fund has so far committed US$7.6 billion to over 440 programs in 136 countries, and is managed by a Secretariat based in Geneva. This vacancy is in the Secretariat of the Global Fund. The Secretariat translates the Fund’s objectives and strategies into daily business operations, building on best practice from the public and private sectors. The Global Fund is looking for staff with strong commitment, an open mind-set, entrepreneurial and flexible attitude as well as proven emotional intelligence. The Global Fund has an agreement with the World Health Organization whereby WHO provides administrative services to the Global Fund. **MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: ** The Partnership Forum meets every two years, gathering together a broad range of global stakeholders to discuss Global Fund performance and to make recommendations on its strategy and effectiveness. Previous Partnership Fora have taken place in 2004 (Thailand) and 2006 (Durban). The Partnership Forum Project Manager reports to the Head of Board and Donor Relations, External Relations. He/she will be responsible for planning, project managing and implementing Partnership Forum 2008: - Plan the process and event for Partnership Forum 2008, in liaison with relevant Secretariat staff; - Prepare and implement the Partnership Forum process including consultation on issues for discussion and identification of objectives and outcomes - Coordinate all aspects of planning for the Forum event including agenda preparation, participant identification and invitation, identification of a facilitator and facilitation team; - Work with the Online team to manage the E-Forum and channel outputs into the preparations for the Forum event; - Prepare and implement an appropriate monitoring and evaluation system for the Forum to support measurement of success and outcomes; - Support the Partnership Forum Steering Committee in their deliberations and prepare issues for their discussion and guidance; - Coordinate the work of other members to ensure the achievement of important milestones meeting internal and external deadlines; - Coordinate internally and externally with stakeholders to ensure appropriate involvement and buy-in of partners; - Manage the budget and timeline for the Partnership Forum to ensure prudent management of time and money. **QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:** EDUCATION: - Advanced university degree in social and/or political science, public administration/ management or comparable academic preparation. COMPETENCIES: - Knowledge and experience of planning conferences or international events involving multiple stakeholder groups. - Good understanding of the multilateral system and civil society. - Proven project management and event coordination skills. EXPERIENCE: - At least seven to ten years professional experience, of which five at the international level. LANGUAGES: - Excellent written and verbal skills in English and at least in another language. Any other official language would be desirable. THE PERSON selected for this position will have the status of a WHO staff member assigned exclusively and solely to support the Global Fund, for an initial period of 14 months. The appointment is for service with the Global Fund only, and does not give any right of transfer or appointment to any of the cosponsoring agencies, including WHO.
