Job Description

Are you interested in learning more about issues related to the Women, Peace and Security agenda and feminist movement building? Do you want to contribute to Kvinna till Kvinna9s international development programmes for gender equality in Sub-Saharan Africa? We are looking for an intern to be based at the Grant Management Unit in our Stockholm office.

About the internship

The internship is intended to make a practical contribution to the work of the organisation through fulfilling identified duties and responsibilities, and to offer a learning opportunity for you as an intern. At the Sub-Saharan Africa team, you will gain experience from the planning, implementation and development of international development programmes and grants management while learning about the WPS-agenda, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and feminist movement building.

As an intern in our team, you will contribute to our work by supporting us in different phases of programme management as well as contributing to data collection and context analyses.

Additionally, you will be part of a group of other interns, each doing their internship in different areas of the organisation.

Core tasks

  • Monitor issues related to the Women, Peace and Security agenda, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, feminist movement building and relevant political developments in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Take part in the development of applications for funding and results reports, both internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare the basis for analyses, including conflict- or gender analyses.
  • Support the daily work of Kvinna till Kvinna9s programmes, including supporting with the Partner Organisation reporting and proposal review.
  • Participate in and support department meetings and internal capacity building events.
  • Conduct other tasks relevant to the Grants Management Unit and other departments, including general administrative tasks.

Essential requirements

  • Knowledge and interest of gender equality and women’s rights, and in particular the Women, Peace and Security agenda, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and/or feminist organisation.
  • Knowledge and interest of Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Cooperative attitude and ability to do independent work.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Good French proficiency is a merit.

We prefer that you are looking for an internship as part of your current studies where you receive reimbursement from CSN or other government funds. If this does not apply to you, you need to mention how your internship is funded.

The internship is unpaid and covers full-time (37.5 hrs/week) for approx. 20 weeks during the autumn semester. Start and end date are negotiable.

We will sign an internship agreement and you will have insurance for the duration of your internship. The internship is based at the head office in Stockholm.
