Job Description

The Office of Recruitment seeks a Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Bangladesh – Promoting Governance, Accountability, Transparency and Integrity (PRAGATI) program. The four-year project will assist the Government of Bangladesh (GOB), the private sector, civil society, media and other key actors to work together to combat corruption. The project will focus on strengthening media, civil society and citizen participation, public institution strengthening, and strengthening parliament in the fight against corruption.

Chief of Party

Chief of Party Responsibilities:

- The Chief of Party will be responsible for the technical leadership and in-country management of the project; - Serve as principal liaison with USAID, GOB counterparts and community stakeholders on program communications and technical implementation activities; - Provide technical and intellectual direction and leadership; - Manage, lead and oversee all expatriate and Bangladeshi consultants in achieving project results; - Provide timely and accurate reporting to USAID on all program areas; - Coordinate program activities with other donor programs. Qualifications: - Twelve or more years of field experience in managing and implementing large, complex anti-corruption programs, budgetary reform, policy reform, public administration, parliamentary strengthening, and/or civil society strengthening; - Senior-level expertise in one or more of the following: anti-corruption, media, public administration, public finance and/or budget; – Demonstrated experience working with senior host-country counterparts; - Previous management experience as the COP of USAID or other donor projects required; - Previous experience working in South Asia or Bangladesh and with GOB preferred; - An advanced degree in finance, political or social science, law or related area; - Fluent English skills required.
