What Europeans think about development aid

The majority of EU citizens have made it clear: The European Union must make good of its promise to increase aid to developing countries.

This sentiment holds even with the lingering economic crisis, according to a survey gauging attitudes within the 500-million-strong bloc toward development and the Millennium Development Goals.

The special Eurobarometer took into account views from 27,680 EU citizens aged 15 and above, and was carried out from late May to early June this year. It aims to inform EU development policy beyond 2015.

Check out this slideshow for more on the findings of the survey, including what EU citizens believe should be the European Union’s post-2015 development policy priorities.

Watch out for Devex coverage from the 2013 European Development Days including all the latest news and views from Europe’s global development event of the year.
