Recent weeks have seen escalating violence in countries in the Middle East and Africa, forcing residents to flee their homelands. U.N High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres says that while taking in refugees places a huge economic and security burden on them, host nations have pledged to keep their borders open.
