What IDB's new eligibility framework means for partners

As the Inter-American Development Bank expands into new areas, how does it balance the need for innovation with the risk of failure?

Devex asked Koldo Echebarria, IDB manager and chief development effectiveness officer, at the bank’s 2013 gathering in Panama City.

In our video interview, Echebarria discusses how the bank processes failure and incorporates lessons into future programming.

“I think that our role is not only to be successful, but also to open new ground,” Echebarria said. “The issue is not failure. It is learning from failure.”
