JBS International
About

Since 1985, JBS International, Inc. (JBS) has delivered research, monitoring and evaluation, technical assistance, information collection, knowledge management, and marketing services to clients across the United States and around the world. JBS also provides substantial expertise in public health communications, information technology, policy analysis, performance measurement, instructional design, on-line and in-person training, and information resource center management.

JBS provides these and other services to critical sectors in challenging environments. In education, for example, JBS has extensive experience in conducting assessments; evaluating programs, projects and activities; and assisting international development clients in designing new educational efforts at all levels. In addition to experience with education, youth, and the labor force, JBS has worked extensively in the areas of gender justice; domestic and intimate partner violence; child welfare; social, democratic, and economic transitions; disability programs and services; and the unique challenges facing culturally diverse, minority, and marginalized populations.

JBS’s Gender Practice emerged from the company’s fundamental commitment to gender equality and women’s rights. JBS believes gender equality is a transformational force that enhances the well-being of societies around the world and enables them to flourish. As a result, the JBS Global Gender Practice seeks to apply evidence-based research to gender programs, identify the root causes of inequality, and construct development hypotheses fueled by theories of change. Client support

Applied research, knowledge management, instructional design, and IT tool development to build client capacity to use a gender-sensitive approach to programming, gather sound evidence, and create a knowledge base for program conceptualization, design, and implementation.

Produced research reports, technical documents, and toolkits containing practical information and concrete recommendations for integrating gender into project design and evaluation and building gender capacity within local research firms, NGOs, and among subject matter experts.

Completed more than 100 formative, mid-term, and end-of-project evaluations plus scale and sustainability studies and development of gender-sensitive indicators.

Supported development, delivery, and reporting on gender integration training in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. The multidisciplinary, interactive learning sessions covered advanced gender analysis issues in new USAID policies and strategies with a regional focus.

Assisted in every component—from thematic development to on-the-ground logistics—of a results-oriented and participatory adult learner-centered workshop on best practices and lessons learned in countering human trafficking, workforce development, gender integration, and youth programming, in the context of developing and maintaining public–private partnerships.
