Description
Org. Setting and Reporting
- Title of Supervisor: Project Manager-REPAC
- Title of Supervisee/s: None
- Working conditions: Office environment with access to telephone, PC and other automation equipment, internet, and intranet. Some local travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the socio-economic surveys in the field through monitoring and reviewing the work of the socio-economic surveyor including analyzing data, concluding findings and relating it with needs and projects.
- Preparing technical reports including analyzing and linking data spatially using GIS tools
- Responsible for the development of the social and economic feasibility of projects to promote sustainable community development in parallel with the physical improvement of shelter, housing and infrastructure.
- Formulation of camp improvement proposals linking social development with physical improvement.
- Collaborates with UNRWA programmes pertaining to socio-economic development by targeting Marka Camp Improvement’s elements and linking them with services provided by the Agency in the area of Health, Education, RSS and Micro-Finance Programme;
- Develops criteria and methodologies for the monitoring of the project implementation on sustainability and the assessment of the impact of social development projects being part of the camp improvement projects and conducts Impact assessment and prepares reports as needed.
- Provides technical input on staff training and professional development; and provide training to community to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Able to establish projects’ programmes and to work independently on technical related matters.
- Performs any other needed duties as directed by supervisor.

Education
A university degree in community development, socio-economic development economist or related field, with special emphasis on the application of social work and community participation insights and methodologies to developmental programmes.
Work Experience
At least four years’ experience in socio-economic development or community development is required
Previous experience of working with community-based NGOs is required
Experience in data management and analysis using statistical software and GIS tools is required
Experience in conducting or co-coordinating training in socio-economic development is required
Languages
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Contract Status:
Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for 6 months (Extendable) subject to availability of funds, satisfactory performance of the incumbent and the continuing need for the post.

Justification for use:
