Niger Delta Support Programme – Component 4: Project Identification and Formulation Mission
Objectives:
The global objective of the Niger Delta Support Programme (NDSP) to be partly formulated by this study is to mitigate the conflict in the Niger Delta by addressing the main causes of the unrest and violence: bad governance, (youth) unemployment, poor delivery of basic services.
The specific objective is to support local communities’ development initiatives and conflict alleviation through the identification and verification of community needs and programmes.
Profile:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in community/rural development project designs will be required;
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or any other relevant field. A professional certification in engineering will be an added advantage;
- At least 5 years direct experience in civil engineering project design;
- Previous work in community project implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa;
- At least 5 years experience in the design, planning, construction and supervision of micro-projects;
- Experience of engineering work in coastal regions;
- In depth experience in production of works tender dossiers under EDF procedures;
- Knowledge of simple design, scaling, project costing;
- Experience in construction or civil project monitoring, quality control, works management and supervision;
- Technical report writing;
- Experience of EDF procedures will be an advantage;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English Language.
