WYG has been shortlisted for EU funded African Peace Facility Expert Pool service contract : technical assistance in peace and security.
The overall objective of this contract is to provide the AUC and RECs/RMs with high quality and timely external expertise for facilitating the implementation of programmes related to the APF Three Year Action Programmes. A particular focus will be the efficient financial and operational management and implementation of the APF Peace Support Operations, APSA operationalization and the Early Response Mechanism.
The intended start date is 1st February 2016 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 24 months from this date.

We are currently looking for candidates for the position of Senior expert to support the AUCs financial compliance with EU pillar assessment, with the following qualifications and skills:
Qualifications and skills:
• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in the area of financial management, economics or related area;
• Strong command of both English and French;
• Very good knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS);
• Advanced training in International Accounting Standards and International Reporting Standards;
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or comparable designations such as Expert comptable agrée;
General professional experience:
• At least ten years of relevant professional experience in the area of financial management;
Specific professional experience:
• Has sound knowledge, understanding and practice of EU guidelines, regulations and procedures;
• Experience in auditing and/or internal control and/or risk assessment and management;
• Experience in training, capacity development;
• Strong sense of diplomacy cultural sensitivity and capacity to work in a multicultural environment;
• Knowledge of financial management software and excellent IT skills;
Desired professional experience:
• Knowledge or previous experience with the AU or PSOs is an advantage notably in the area of procurement, administrative procedures and rules;
• At least five years of professional experience in the management of EU funded projects;
• Experience in assessing compliance with EU pillar assessment would be a clear advantage;
