The aim of the Fleming Fund is to address critical gaps in surveillance of antibiotic resistant bacteria in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Countries in these areas are set to bear the highest burden of antibiotic resistant infections. Led by the UK, political action against the problem has resulted in a roadmap for global response - the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)2.
This is the blueprint for a multi-stakeholder Global response to averting the burden of AMR.
We are seeking to recruit a Regional Coordinator to manage our West Africa Regional hub, including a team of technical experts and operations staff and high-level liaison with AMR Coordination Committee members and governments throughout the region.
In this role you will be leading the end to end grant management process for the Fleming Fund Grants programme, reviewing grant programmes and making recommendations for grant approval, undertaking site inspections of grantees and grant supported sites, ensuring planning processes, project work plans, budgets and action plans are completed and monitored for the region.
You will be experienced in working in a similar role of technical oversight and project management/coordination for projects in low and middle-income settings. Working with multiple stakeholders including experience of effective client engagement you will be able to multi-task and maintain a critical overview of interrelated tasks, projects and issues ensuring delivering according to targets and timescales.
