PSI seeks candidates for an Accounts Receivable, Billing & Revenue Manager to provide support to PSI’s global mission. This position will manage the Accounts Receivable, Billing and Revenue groups ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, proper revenue recognition, accurate and timely application of cash as well as managing risk in unbilled and outstanding receivables. This position supervises eight Accountants. This full-time position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Assistant Controller, Billing & Revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of Accounts Receivable function including, application of cash to open receivables, reconciliation of billed A/R, optimizing cash flow and working with the field on field originated invoices and receipts.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Billing function including managing to contractual deadlines, review of donor invoices and revenue recognition.
  • Communicate effectively with staff as well as the various departments that play a role in the Billing and A/R functions.
  • Coordinate the compilation of Unbilled, Billed and Deferred roll-forward account reconciliations at the activity and general ledger level.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of other activity related accounts such as: grants, program income revenue, unbilled receivables and accounts receivable. Identify and resolve potential general ledger versus project activity balance variances.
  • Supervises six Accountants responsible for Funder invoicing as well as two A/R Accountants.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives, finding solutions to complex billing, revenue and accounts receivable issues.
  • Assist with audit requests and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year accounting or related degree or equivalent experience, CPA highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience in financial reporting, government contracting or non-profit environment. Public accounting preferred.
  • Proven management capabilities and ability to work with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong problem solving abilities required
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with accounting and spread sheet software especially Excel.
  • Lawson experience highly desirable.
