Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Carry out on-site sound monitoring for environmental impact studies and noise reduction.
• Analyze monitoring results’ data and verify conformity of reports.
• Calculate sound propagation indoors and outdoors using standard methods and specialized software.
• Evaluate corrective measures and verify their effectiveness
• Write reports.
Requirements:
• University degree in engineering or science
• Knowledge of theoretical notions in acoustics such as: dB, human perception of sound, free-field and reverberant sound propagation, general noise control methods
• Knowledge of standard monitoring methods based on sound pressure and intensity.
• Knowledge of basic functions of a modern sound level meter.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software
• 1 - 3 years experience.
• Spoken and written French (bilingualism is an advantage).
Assignment:
Full time position, 37, 5 hours per week. The office is located in Longueuil however the position requires some travel for nighttime or daytime field surveys. Travel is mostly within Quebec and sometimes abroad. A driver’s license and a car are required.
