Job Description

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), in consortium with the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM), the European Consultants Organisation (ECO), France Coopération Internationale (FCI) and the Fundación International y para Iberoámerica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP), is bidding for the European Development Fund (EDF) financed technical assistance project ”Intra-ACP Migration Facility” (African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States).

This project will aim to build the capacities of:
•Regional and national institutions in order to incorporate the migration and development element into development policies,
•The civil society so that it can participate in institutional political dialogue on migratory issues.
Another objective of the project will be to ensure coherence with the planned creation of an ACP observatory on migration.

The project will be implemented by a Brussels based Project Management Unit (PMU) consisting of 4 experts that will monitor and coordinate a team of 12 Technical Assistants based in the 6 ACP regions as well as a pool of short-term experts.

The consortium is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the PMU in Brussels.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant performs the following specific tasks:
•Perform routine clerical tasks, including monitoring of the overall programme procedures (tender invitations, Steering Committee, meetings, filing and archive, updating of directories and databases);
•Participate in and support the Head of PMU in monitoring the project accounting and project management;
•Maintain daily coordination with the PMU’s key contact persons.
Qualification and Experience
•(Executive) secretary diploma or an equivalent experience;
•Excellent oral and written English and French communication skills;
•Excellent computer skills;
•At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in the field of development cooperation;
•Capacity to work with and provide support to a multidisciplinary and decentralised expert team;
•Working experience in an international organisation is an asset.
•Knowledge of ACP countries is an asset ;
•Proven experience in providing administrative support to the management of one or several projects;
•Knowledge of EDF procedures is an asset.
