Job Description

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME: This post is established in each technical division to provide administrative support in order to improve programme delivery.

Description of duties: Under the general supervision of the respective Divisional Director, provide administrative support to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Division and initiate required action regarding personnel, budget and finance, administrative services, supplies, programme planning, informatics, telecommunications and public information matters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: University degree in business or public administration commerce/management or equivalent.

A postgraduate degree would be an advantage.

Skills: Demonstrated supervisory/leadership ability. Ability to take, initiate and maintain effective working relations with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Good interpersonal skills and computer literacy.

Proven managerial skills senior position would be an asset.

Experience: At least 5 years’ professional experience at the national level and 2 to 3 years’ experience at the international level in management and general administration.

Related WHO or UN experience would be an advantage.

Languages: Excellent knowledge of English or French with a good working knowledge of the other language.

Annual salary: (Net of tax) US$ 51,395 at single rate US$ 55,060 with primary dependents Post Adjustment: 76.3 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
