Project/Proposal Summary:
The goal of the Deputy Commanding General – Advising & Training (DCG (A&T)) program is to assist the Iraqi Government in the development, organization, training, and sustainment of Ministries capable of defeating terrorism and providing a stable environment in which representative government, individual freedom, the rule of law, and free market economy can evolve—ultimately leading to increased Iraqi and Gulf Region security. More specifically, the program will assist the Iraq Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Ministry of Interior (MoI) to improve performance in order to attain the capacity to organize, train, equip, and sustain all Iraqi Security Forces (ISF).
Position Summary:
Advisor to MOD/MOI senior officials. Responsible for managing and maintaining accountability for a ministerial level advisory team of military and civilian coalition advisors and supporting local national linguists, mentoring the Iraqi MOD & MOI. Also, advises and assists development of Ministerial engagement strategies to enhance the systemic capability and capacity development of an effective Iraqi MOD. Assists in development of strategies to facilitate timely and effective decision-making and information sharing and to lead and guide in development of institutional capabilities that facilitate good governance. Assists an internal review of advisor positions, skill-sets, and relationships to enhance efforts to build and establish relationships with ministerial officials and other ministries and agencies to include Iraqi, Coalition, and US officials. Develop a system to track and map progress in institutional development with quantifiable metrics. Assists in development, implementation, and oversight of policies and processes with the Iraqi ministry counterparts. Must receive and process Classified and Top Secret material.
