Assistant Manager, Agri-Business Incubator (ABI)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for Assistant Manager, Agri-Business Incubator (ABI) to establish business incubation program and co-business incubation systems between the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, and ABI-ICRISAT. The Assistant Manager, ABI reports to the Manager, ABI-ICRISAT, and will be based at TNAU, Coimbatore.

The Job:

* Set up business incubator at TNAU, Coimbatore through co-business incubation with ABI-ICRISAT
* Manage the business incubator initiative in implementation and development through agri-business consultancy, business incubation and escort services to clients.
* Promote entrepreneurs in agri-business and facilitate commercialization of agri-technologies from TNAU and its partners
* Implement the agri-business plan and promote seed business, farm business and other innovative ventures.
* Generate resources through conventional and innovative programs and incorporate revenue generation systems.
* Facilitate, liaise with TNAU and ICRISAT management team and service units, regional research stations and centres, CG centres for the potential technology for incubation and develop ideal innovative business proposals for promoting new tech ventures.
* Effectively liaison with the TNAU directorates and departments for scouting of technologies for commercialization and incubation.
* Support in training programs, promotion, exhibition and event management, day-to-day management of business incubation activities.
* Perform any other duties assigned by the management of TNAU and ABI-ICRISAT

The Person: A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, with a Post-graduate degree in Business Management and Administration. More than 5 years experience in the agri-business industry specialized in marketing and management with entrepreneurial experience in agri-business / seed business, etc. Experience in managing agri-programs, event management, and training will be an added advantage. S/he should possess basic computer skills in MS Office. Good written and oral communication skills in English and Tamil are essential.

The Reward: An attractive all-inclusive consolidated pay (CTC) in the range of Indian Rupees 4 lakhs per annum. The appointment will be initially on a one-year fixed contract, and is extendable based on performance.
